Stopgap weapons as a feature of warfare: theorising from the past to prepare for future wars

Some of our research was published late last year in a special edition of the Australian Army Journal. As the title suggests, we posited that stopgap weapons have been a recurring feature of war in the post-industrial age and that stopgap weapons will likely continue to feature in warfare as necessity dictates.
